Great Britain celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union in 1924. They did so by issuing two stamps depicting a portrait of George VI (Albert Frederick Arthur George: Born on 14 December 1895 and died on 6 February 1952). He was King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth from 11 December 1936 until his death on 6 February 1952. Todays stamp from Great Britain is the 3 pence issue from 1949.
